Dead Violets : Crow in the Graveyard
We love underdogs here at Dog Eared Records. And as far as underdogs go, you'll be hard pressed to find anyone more dog-eared than the Dead Violets. Speculate if you will, about the circumstances surrounding these raw, haphazard and highly energetic recordings. Are these blokes Fall and Swell Maps enthusiasts, keeping the punk flame alive in their garage or basement? Surely, they must feel lonelier than the last human being on a zombie ravaged planet. This just goes to show, the all mighty power of black humour. It can keep a relatively rational being alive and well even in the bleakest surroundings (i.e., Suburban London). And the Dead Violets are funny. Even more than they are fierce, and brother, they sure can growl. Rough, rough diamonds (like the jagged bandy legged rocker Skeletons or the darkly hypnotic Dora Maar) await your approval. Go on, wag your tail. We won't pass judgment.
